An unputdownable new story for younger readers on finding magic everywhere and discovering who you are on the way.
Mab’s mum is so obsessed with fairies that she even named her after a famous fairy queen. While she’s learned to put up with her mum’s fairy lights, fairy houses and fairy stories, she thinks it’s gone too far when she receives a fairy dress for her birthday and has to wear it to school!
But Mab’s fairy-loathing takes an unexpected turn when she finds a real-life (and especially grumpy) fairy hiding in the pages of an old Victorian book. Despite her spiky personality and slightly scary fairy appearance, Bindweed helps Mab and her family to heal as they come to terms with her dad leaving. Tasked with ultimately returning Bindweed home to live among the flowers again, Mab’s resilience and patience are tested, while she also discovers that fairies aren’t the soppy creatures she’s always imagined.
